BIOGRAPHY AND PROFESSIONAL CURRICULUM

Marcella TISI

Architect, painter, and sculptor, born in Genoa with roots in the Emilia region. She moved to Turin, where she lives and works.

She specializes in interventions in public and private open spaces, urban and territorial redevelopment projects, and interior renovations, where the relationship between art, nature, and architecture is a priority. She engages in teaching and research activities.

In the early 1980s, she began her artistic journey in painting.

In 1987, she graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Turin and simultaneously refined her artistic studies under the guidance of Giacomo Soffiantino.

In 1988, she obtained her license to practice as an architect.

In 1987, she started working as a designer at FIAT Engineering S.p.A., and from 1990 to 1992, at the Toni Cordero Office in Turin.

In 1992, she began her private practice at her own studio in Turin.

From 1995 to 2005, she worked as a teaching assistant and researcher at the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Turin, with the title of subject specialist in Urban Design and Design Studio 2 courses.

In 1996, she briefly attended Luigi Mainolfi’s studio.

In 2000, she obtained a teaching qualification for artistic disciplines in lower secondary schools and for artistic disciplines and art history in upper secondary schools.

In 2004, she received her degree in Sculpture, under Riccardo Cordero, at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, with the thesis “Place and Works: Art and Architecture – New Dialogue for New Landscapes,” which she later transformed into a publication.

During her studies at the Academy, she occasionally attended Pino Mantovani’s studio.

Since 2007, she has been teaching at the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR), Istituto Comprensivo 2 in San Mauro Torinese, with the roles of Art Teacher, Member of the Operational Project Group, and Member of the Innovation Team.

Currently, Marcella Tisi’s art and architecture studio collaborates with Andrea Cicconi, architect and photographer from Turin; Valoris Marcon, sculptor from Ivrea; Mathieu Gasquet, videomaker from Wales; and the GeoArc Studio in Turin.
