LA TELA DI FOGLIE

LA TELA DI FOGLIE

2009, Torino.

Art installation created in the Chinese Room of the Circolo dei Lettori at Palazzo Graneri della Roccia in Turin, on the occasion of the presentation of the artist’s book:  place and works.

In May of the previous year, the artist had created Le Stanze , a series of works dedicated to the garden of a historic building in Ferrara, including an installation titled La tela di petali. This work used seasonal natural elements—specifically, petals from 800 roses. For the presentation of the artist’s book: Il luogo e le opere at the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin in November 2009, a similar installation was recreated, using natural elements from the autumn season: with 3,000 liquidambar leaves, the artist “constructed” a canvas upon which she traced a distant landscape with red French pigment powder.

Participants at the book presentation included Roberto Tricarico (Assessor for Housing and Public Green Spaces), Marco Trisciuoglio (Professor, Politecnico di Torino), Andrea Rolando (Professor, Politecnico di Milano), Riccardo Cordero (sculptor), and Mario Virano (former Professor, IUAV University of Venice).
