PAESAGGI SVELATI. “Attraversando Luoghi” (Crossing Places) was developed in parallel with the project LANDSCAPES IN MOTION. Experiences in the Territory as a Work of Art, conceived by Marcella Tisi and Andrea Rolando, and explores one of the aspects linked to the central theme of walking as a tool for understanding and culturally experiencing the territory, reading and interpreting it as a work of art in itself.

The place, framed in its uniqueness, becomes a landscape.

The project, which benefited from the expertise and collaboration of Gianfranco Lionetti, is dedicated to a section of the territory within the Ente Parco Archeologico Storico Naturale delle Chiese Rupestri del Materano. It aims to highlight both the obvious and subtle aspects of its uniqueness and exceptional nature. Various phases are planned, including studying the routes through map analysis and direct experience, a nature excursion with Gianfranco Lionetti, and the creation of artistic stops represented by site-specific works by Marcella Tisi.

While walking through the places, Marcella Tisi reveals the landscapes, leaving blue traces (using pigments and non-aggressive substances previously applied in these territories) as signals to awaken attention. These works are, by nature, non-invasive and ephemeral. An initial pilot exploration was conducted, during which the first stops were marked with actual artistic interventions by Marcella Tisi. Based on this first pilot event, a subsequent phase of project expansion is proposed to establish a designated path with minimal interventions along which visitors will encounter Marcella Tisi’s site-specific works, which, being ephemeral, will be documented through photographic and video records, as well as descriptive sheets.
