SCEGLI IL TUO PAESAGGIO!

Reflecting on the themes of Paesaggi in movimento, in this case, the landscape and its elements not only inspired the work but deeply influenced its outcome. An abandoned agricultural building, positioned high on the side of a hill with almost a 360° view of the Irsina countryside, was transformed into a natural backdrop within the territory. On the main facade, which remained intact, the existing opening was minimally adjusted to match the proportions of a photographic frame. The structure became the canvas upon which the gesture of a photographer, framing the view with their hands, was depicted. Through this framed opening, a rectangular “slice” of the landscape is captured from the vast surrounding scenery, transforming it into a piece of landscape.

The spirit of the intervention is an invitation to the hiking tourist to enjoy the landscape directly, without “filters” or visual mediations, drawing attention to the beauty within the vastness of the place. Paesaggi in movimento includes actions such as temporary events to raise awareness and engage locals and visitors—as in September 2013 and 2014—as well as permanent interventions aimed at creating new resources or enhancing existing ones, like identifying and strengthening historical-environmental trails.

The event on September 22, 2018, offered participants, along with the actual experience of traveling by train and on foot through the countryside, an invitation to contemplate the territory more closely. The invitation card promoting the event could be easily transformed into a simple frame, allowing each person to select their own landscape view.
